DISCIPLINE
Discipline is part of the corrective measures used to instil good morals and etiquette in the students. It is a demonstration of discipline when students come to school early, obey the assembly bell, go out to observe recess, stay quietly in class and read their books when teachers are out of class.
DEVOTION/ASSEMBLY
This is an integral part of the school activities which is compulsory for all staff and students to attend. During this period, prayers are said and Bible passages are read to instil discipline and godliness among our staff and students. This also serves as an avenue for important information to be passed across.
HEALTH
Learning can only be assimilated when children are healthy. In view of this, parents are to see to the needs of their children’s well being at home. They should ensure that they eat well, have proper exercise and go to bed at the right time. Sick children are to be taken to the hospital, those with skin infection and other contagious diseases are to be treated and certified okay by the doctor before such a child resumes school.
FIGHTING/STEALING
These are punishable offences. It is expected that any act of aggression or assault should be reported to the school authority. On the other hand, students are advised to keep their money and other valuables safe.
SCHOOL/HOME RELATIONSHIP
There is urgent and compelling need for both homes and school to co-operate and have mutual understanding on the issues that affect children’s progress. Parents must always communicate with the school authority on the inability of their child(ren) to come to school, so that the school can arrange to either call or visit such a child.
SECURITY
Security is essential for our living. Every member of staff is encouraged to be security conscious at all times. Our school is securely built with fence and security staff are always available at the gate to control movement of visitors and parents. They have the right to ask questions, to know the purpose and the intention of visitors. They are authorised to pass or turn people back depending on the time and purpose of visit. They are also to ensure that students are not allowed out of the school compound except on permission.
BREAKAGE
If students damage any school facility, their parents are notified to arrange for replacement. Much as the school has put a mechanism of supervision in place, parents should endeavour to advise their children on the need to be law abiding.
PUNCTUALITY
Punctuality is acquired through practise and discipline. Every student is expected to be punctual.
NEATNESS
There is a general saying that “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”. At HHS, students are expected to be neatly and decently dressed with the authorised uniform to school. Improper and indecent dressing is not tolerated.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
“All work and no play make Jack a dull boy”. At HHS, there are varieties of extra curricular activities ranging from Excursion, Inter-House Sports, Indomie Fan Club and various educational entertainments by corporate organisations such as Nestle Foods, Cadbury PLC, Chi Limited etc.
OPEN DAY
This is a day set aside each term to enable parents visit the school with the aim of checking their children’s work and make comment on their academic performance.
CEREMONIES
The school organises various shades of ceremonies. The most outstanding is the END OF THE SESSION/GRADUATION where students with outstanding academic performance are honoured. This is usually held at the end of the session in July
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Birthday party is not allowed to be celebrated in the school. The celebrant is free to invite their friends and colleagues at their own discretion at home. This is to guide against unhealthy competition, rivalry and the discouragement of poor students whose parents may not have the money to engage in such activity.
